The Sponsorship Programme
So many leaders in the Teso region are saying the same thing - secondary education is the top priority, especially for orphans and for bright girls in the permanent 'refugee' camps in Katakwi and Amuria.
The Director of the Development Office is saying that the education of bright children is now an even greater priority in many areas of Teso than the wide variety of development projects which have been traditionally supported.
So what does it cost?
Only £25 per month (or £300 per year)
What does this cover?
School fees for one student for one year
Newsletters 3 times a year
Report card and letter from your student up to 3 times per year
How is this different from all other sponsorship programmes?
TESS prides itself on having a family feel. We are a small charity and each student is known personally by all of the TESS staff. Sponsors are able to email or call the UK Sponsorship Manager to ask questions or to get updates on their student. Sponsors are actively encouraged to take a role in the charity either through volunteering, visiting Teso or becoming a TESS trustee.
We also ask that all sponsors write to their individual students at least once per year so that they can develop a personal relationship and support the student(s) through their studies.
What if I can't afford £25 per month?
TESS always has co-sponsorship opportunities. Please get in touch and we will match you with a current student who requires some additional help with their course fees.
Additionally we always need finance for medical treatment for students or for textbooks to assist their learning. Giving £2 per month to the medical fund means that we can treat the students for illnesses such as malaria and typhoid.
